THE OMBRIA TREK

This route develops through the Ombria’s mountain, south of our city. It starts at the sports centre and continues through the streets of D. Juan de Austria, Plaça República de Malta, Corts Valencianes up until the bridge that crosses the river Vaca’s.

We continue though the left and cross the bridge arriving to a bifurcation of 3 ways, we have to continuing along the centre heading the Pont del Riu’s path. After round 200 meters we will cross El Badell but from another bridge and will continue the way until we get to the crossover with the Ombria’s path.

In this crossover we continue heading south, through the Cadira’s path, until we get to the mountain’s foot, where we will leave tar aside. We will get to the footpath with and zigzagging ascension, on the left side the Cremades’ ravine.

The footpath goes through a pine area and reaches the superior part where it continues through a levelled up area until we get to a forest track. We continue through such track until we get to a bifurcation where we have to head left, in such way we will find what’s called the tank, an ancient cistern to collect water.

We continue through the forest track, heading east until we get to a footpath we get on our left, it will take us to the Pla de les Foietes. In this stretch of the route one can enjoy the landscape views form the east: The Mediterranean’s Sea on the background from Cullera to the Montgó.

We go through the Pla de les Foietes, ancient abandoned olive fields, until we arrive to a house, at the the right side of the footpath, surrounded by cultivated fields.

From this place, the footpath starts to decent through the Foietes’ ravine down to mountain foot. We continue descending through a trail in between orange fields until we get the Gandía’s path.

We will turn left and continue with the same trail leaving to our right the tunnel that crosses the motorway, heading north until we get to a crossover of trails, we will turn left again, this time heading west.

This trail will take is to the intersection to the Ombria’s path, which we will continue until the intersection with the Cadira’s and Pont del Riu’s path, continuing from here we will get back to the route’s starting point: the sports centre.

We have to keep in mind that in the stretch that make on the the Ombria’s path we have the signalling to access to Bolomor’s Cave or Route number 4.
